Drawings

I think of drawing as my most direct and spontaneous form of artistic expression. There is something very immediate about holding a color pencil, pen, marker, or graphite that allows me to “dance” with the various sizes of paper I use.

I seldom know when I begin a drawing where the initial lines and mark-making will take me and what faces and human figures will evolve. These unforeseen guests from the unconscious, manifest themselves in their own space, and usually come to rest in a field of white.
